Season 2 opened Kanturu, a ruined world behind Tarkan with a two-stage boss raid against Maya and the Nightmare, and with it the Jewel of Harmony - the gem that started MU's whole enhance, refine and restore economy. Around that: five new weapons, five new armour sets, the Dark Lord's Fire Scream, the Add Option combination and a full rewrite of map entry levels.
Kanturu — the ruined world
Kanturu — the archaeological site, the ruins and the Tower of Refinement.
Kanturu is reached on foot from Tarkan (199, 6), or with the move command and the move window (M). It is split into the Kanturu Archaeological Site and the Kanturu Ruins.

Eleven normal monsters and two bosses arrive with Kanturu.
Eleven normal monsters and two boss monsters were added: Satyros, Blade Hunter, Iron Rider, Dreadfear, Twin Tail, Persona, Genocider, Gigantis, Kentauros, Sprinter Wolf and Berserker, with Maya (and the Hands of Maya) and the Nightmare as the bosses.

Boss battle 2 — the Nightmare
With both hands destroyed Maya loses her power and the player drops to the floor. 30 seconds later the second boss, the Nightmare, appears and summons its own group of monsters — and whenever the number of summons falls below a threshold it summons again. Kill it inside 20 minutes and the raid is over.
Failure in any stage means every character dying, or the timer running out. If you die during the fight you are moved to a safe zone inside the ruins, and after a failure you can try again once a certain amount of time has passed.
The Jewel of Harmony
Ore drops in Kanturu; refining it gives the Jewel of Harmony.
The Jewel of Harmony does not drop directly. What drops is gem ore, from monsters inside Kanturu, and you refine the ore into the jewel.

Item enhancement
Three linked systems: enhance with a jewel, refine to raise the value, restore to undo it.
Enhancement grants a new option to a weapon or armour using a Jewel of Harmony. Click the jewel and drop it onto the item.

+6 ~ +8

+9 ~ +12
The above, plus automatic mana recovery, PvP defence success rate and damage reduction
+13
The above, plus SD ratio
Two of those options deserve reading twice. SD reduction rate turns part of the damage your target's shield would absorb into direct HP damage — at +5%, the opponent's absorption falls from 90% to 85% and direct HP damage rises from 10% to 15%. Ignore SD on attack skips the shield entirely, by chance.
Refining and restoration
Refining takes the same option one step further — here Max AG +4 becomes +6.
Refining
Refining raises the value of the option enhancement already gave the item. It needs a refining stone, and refining stones are crafted from items.

Advanced stones succeed more often than Inferior ones. Refining stones can be crafted from normal and Excellent items, but the items in the list below must be +4 or higher; anything above that list can be used at +0.

Shields

Restoration puts the item back the way it was — it clears the option values and the non-tradable penalty that enhancement applied. It works at 100%, at the restoration NPC Jerryden (86, 13) in the Aida safe zone, and the only cost is Zen. How much Zen depends on the item's level and on the enhancement options sitting on it.
New items
Fire Scream — the Dark Lord's tier above Fire Burst.
Fire Scream is a Dark Lord exclusive and sits a tier above Fire Burst. You learn it from a Fire Scream Scroll, dropped by monsters of level 102 and above.

Add Option is a second, separate way to put a bonus on a level 380 item. It runs through the Add Option menu on the Chaos Goblin and attaches a fixed value rather than a rolled one.

Five new weapons and five new armour sets arrive, plus the Dark Lord's Fire Scream.
