Season 18 (2022-2023) adds the Illusion Knight, an Agility knight who fights with a summoned second sword, and Artifacts - a whole new equipment slot built out of hexagonal puzzle pieces. It brings Brilliant 8th mastery weapons and Crimson Flame Apocalypse 9th mastery armour, the Ignis Volcano and Bloody Tarkan hunting grounds, the Ur 5th Guardian, a 6th mastery earring, the nightly Boss Battle Together event, the Barka time attack, a Season Pass, the Tempest Muun, a rebuilt wing-crafting window, and a Combat Power renewal for four melee classes.
The Illusion Knight

Zakard was born an avatar of Kundun and had a gift for the sword, but as a descendant of the Magic Gladiator line who could use neither magic sword nor magic he was never recognised as one. His awakening came mid-spar: throwing out his empty left hand to block a blade, an illusion of the sword in his right hand appeared in it.
That bought him Kundun's trust — until Kundun sent him to shadow a Lemuria band near Lost Tower and then let him fight them alone. He survived, realised he had been abandoned, cut his way out through Balrog, and walked out of Lost Tower looking for revenge.
Mechanically he is an Agility knight with ordinary defence and high attack power, who summons an illusion sword in his off hand and fights with blade aura.

| Class names | Illusion Knight → Mirage Knight → Illusion Master |

| Wind Glaive | Agility 650 | Throws whirlwind-shaped sword energy forward. |

Brilliant — the 8th mastery weapons

The 8th mastery weapon is the Brilliant, upgraded at the Chaos Goblin in Noria (180, 99) from a Manticore weapon at +11 with 16 options or better. The rate is 100% and the item type, Luck and Excellent options all carry over.

Crimson Flame Apocalypse is the 9th mastery set, upgraded 100% from +11 / 16 option Celestial Brilliant armour with a Soul of Apocalypse. Class, slot, Luck and the all-stats option are kept, and Excellent Apocalypse armour drops raw in Ignis Volcano and Bloody Tarkan.

Artifacts

The Artifact is a completely new equipment type with its own slot. Each one is a puzzle piece made of joined hexagons, and the number of hexagons is the type number — one hexagon is type 1, two is type 2, and so on. You cannot slot two Artifacts of the same type at once.
| Mechanic | Detail |
|---|---|
| Enhancement | Up to +15 at the Chaos Goblin in Noria, using an Artifact Enhancement Stone and zen. A failure does not destroy the item — it drops one step. |
| Disassembly | Returns 1 Artifact Enhancement Stone |
| Wear level | Spider Artifact types 1–7 all need level 800 |
| Creation | Jewel of Creation ×50 and 10,000,000 zen at 80%, up to 30 at a time |

The first family is the Spider Artifact, types 1 to 7. Each type rolls one option at random from its own pool, starting at 1–10 and growing to these ceilings at +15:
| Type | Option pool | Maximum at +15 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Defence, defence success rate, base defence, damage decrease | 106 / 106 / 78 / 78 |
| 2 | Strength, agility, vitality, energy, command | 56 each |
| 3 | Max life, max mana, max AG, max SD | 158 each |
| 4 | Excellent damage, critical damage, attack speed, skill attack power | 78 / 78 / 20 / 56 |
| 5 | Elemental defence, elemental attack power, elemental defence and attack success rate | 56 / 56 / 106 / 106 |
| 6 | Curse power group | 56 |
| 7 (rare) | — | — |
Completing a full Artifact set adds all stats +100 on top. Artifact Fragments and Enhancement Stones come out of the Barka event.
Ignis Volcano

The volcano above Vulcanus was the nest of a red dragon called Ignis, and a temple stood beside it. Then the arena was dug in underneath, its influence turned the people against the dragon, and they raised a subjugation force. Learning of it the dragon sickened with grief and destroyed itself rather than be hunted — and at the moment it died the volcano erupted and burned everything.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| How to get there | Move command window for 50,000 zen, or on foot from Vulcanus (33, 15) |
| Entry level | 1,220 |

|---|---|---|
| Magma Gladiator | 640 | Melee |
| Magma Hook | 645 | Melee |
| Magma Shaman | 650 | Ranged area attacks — absorbs 200 mana per hit |
The elite zones sit at fire (171, 40), water (30, 135), earth (105, 37), wind (47, 223) and dark (214, 196). All three elites are level 650 and apply their elemental debuff pair with a 100% chance on every hit, which a Guardian's elite resistance option blunts.
Bloody Tarkan

Tarkan is where the failed products of the Kanturu bio-experiments still live. Deep inside it the scientists found sand that should have been ochre running blood red; they analysed it, found nothing, and were left with a guess — that some magic has been cast on it. They cannot research further with the failed products roaming, so they asked the heroes of MU to clear them out.
| Setting | Value |

| How to get there | Move command window for 50,000 zen, or on foot from Tarkan (110, 231) |
| Entry level | 1,250 |

Its elite zones are at fire (29, 48), water (234, 221), earth (86, 109), wind (30, 217) and dark (228, 27), with elite versions of all four monsters at the same levels. The elite drop table is the usual one — Elite Option Change Fragments, Sealed Armour Fragments, Golden Emblems, Elite Guardian Enhancement Stones and the Jewel of Harmony.
The Earring of Bond and the Ur Guardian

The 6th mastery earring is the Earring of Bond, upgraded from a +11 to +15 Earring of Fascination with the Crafting Mould of Bond — 25,000 Ruud from Priest James in Elbeland (32, 239) — plus Bless ×20, Soul ×20, Chaos ×1, Creation ×1.

| Elemental defence | 300 | 358 |
| Options (1–3 roll) | Max life +1,000, skill attack power +27, mastery attack or wizardry +110, mastery excellent damage +185, mastery critical damage +185 | Max mana +1,000, excellent damage rate +9%, critical damage rate +9%, AG recovery +10, attack speed +7 |
Wearing both gives the earring set option: ignore enemy defence 6%, all stats +9 and mastery damage +80.
The 5th Guardian: Ur
The fifth Guardian is Ur, worn at level 1,200, with a rarer recoloured Ur (Rare) at a low rate from the same combination. Upgrade it from the 4th Guardian at the Trainer in Lorencia (122, 110) using the Seal of Ur — 50,000 Ruud from Priest James — plus Bless ×20, Soul ×20, Chaos ×1, Creation ×1, at 100% / 90% / 80% / 70% / 60% from a +15 down to a +11 base.
| Option type | Values |
|---|---|
| Base | Movement speed, attack speed +7, defence +290 |
| Normal (1–3 roll) | Elemental attack power +241, elemental defence +241, defence +5.0 per 20 levels, attack / wizardry / curse power +5.0 per 20 levels (both capped at level 1,100) |
| Elite resistance (1 of 5) | Fire, water, earth, wind or dark |
As always a successful upgrade rerolls the normal options and always rerolls the elite resistance.
Boss Battle Together and Barka
Boss Battle Together is a five-minute server-wide boss fight that runs every night at 20:00, with entry open from 19:55. It runs on every channel except Loren Market, the Event Map Square and Castle Siege.
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Who can enter | Level 800 or above, 4th class change completed |
| Entry cost | 10,000,000 zen plus a Boss Battle Together Entry Ticket |
| Getting the ticket | Chance drop from monsters level 200 or above (Deep Dungeon floor 2 and up) |
| The fight | 2 bosses spawn; kill them all inside 5 minutes |
| Dying | No death penalty — you respawn in the safe zone inside the boss zone and keep going |
Rewards go to everyone who dealt at least 1,000,000 accumulated damage: a Jewel of Harmony Box (3–5 Jewels of Harmony) and a Bonus Box, delivered through the Gremory Case. Two bonus missions hand out 2 extra Bonus Boxes each — one for the highest accumulated damage, one for the last hit on a boss. The Bonus Box holds the Sign of Trial and a +0 Radiant Orb (I).

Barka was rebuilt as a solo time attack for level 1,000 characters, once per day. You enter by right-clicking a Barka Entry Ticket, which moves you to a waiting room, then talk to Aide Jerint in the middle to go in — you land in one of 7 map types at random. Clear every monster in the three or four battle areas within 10 minutes and survive to the final zone and the map is cleared. A dedicated Barka MU Helper plays it for you (Home key); the normal MU Helper is disabled inside. Clearing it gives a Spider Artifact Fragment or an Artifact Enhancement Stone through the Gremory Case, collectable for 7 days.
Season Pass and the Tempest Muun

The Season Pass runs monthly for 28 days. You earn pass experience from daily missions, level the pass to a maximum of 20, and claim buffs and items as you go. Missions reset at 00:00, and rewards land in the Gremory Case — Character tab for 7 days.
| Grade | Who gets it |
|---|---|
| MU Pass | Every connected character |
| Gold Pass | Characters that used a Gold Pass voucher |
| Premium Pass | Gold Pass characters that also used a Premium Pass voucher |
Pass tickets grant a fixed lump of pass experience. The pass belongs to the character, so a character transfer carries the pass level and any tickets with it.
Mastery Soul Crystal
One Season Pass reward buff is the Mastery Soul Crystal, which makes crystals drop while you hunt. Which crystal you get depends on where you are:
| Hunting ground | Crystal |
|---|---|
| Nixie Lake | Dark Angel's Soul Crystal |
| Swamp of Darkness | Holy Angel's Soul Crystal |
| Kubera Mine | Awakening Soul Crystal |
| Scorched Canyon | Frost Soul Crystal |
| Arnil Temple | Ancestral Soul Crystal |
| Burning Kethotum | Manticore's Soul Crystal |
| Ignis Volcano | Brilliant Soul Crystal |
You can collect 100 per day, and 2,500 of them plus Bless ×10, Soul ×10, Creation ×10, Chaos ×1 and 1 billion zen make a [Bound] Mastery Soul of that grade at 100%.

The Premium Muun line ended and the Tempest Muun replaced it (existing Premium eggs and boxes still work). A Tempest Muun rolls one of two options — skill attack power, or attack / wizardry / curse power — and its value depends on your character level and the muun's level:
| Character level | Lv 1 | Lv 2 | Lv 3 | Lv 4 | Lv 5 | Evolved |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–400 (skill attack power) | 9 | 11 | 13 | 15 | 17 | 19 |
| 401–800 | 10 | 12 | 14 | 16 | 18 | 20 |
| 801+ | 11 | 13 | 15 | 17 | 19 | 21 |
| 1–400 (attack / wizardry / curse) | 14 | 16 | 18 | 20 | 22 | 24 |
| 401–800 | 15 | 17 | 19 | 21 | 23 | 25 |
| 801+ | 16 | 18 | 20 | 22 | 24 | 26 |
On top of that sits a multiplier tied to the muun's level: 5× / 7× / 9× / 11× / 13×, rising to 20× once evolved. The Tempest option normally applies Wednesday to Sunday only — but an evolved muun switches to applying every day of the week, multiplier included, for the 30-day activation period.
Wing crafting, character renewal and levels

Wing and cape crafting moved into the [Equipment Enhance/Craft] button on the Chaos Goblin in Noria (180, 102). One tree now lists every recipe — 1st through 4th wings, the Wing Relic steps, bound wings, monster wings and the Wings of Conqueror — and each entry opens a guide page with its materials and rates. Register the main item and the combination materials you already hold are added automatically; the (+) and (−) buttons adjust quantities.

Wing Relics are the new intermediate item, one per wing tier. They stack 50 to a slot and work in personal trade, the personal store and the warehouse, but cannot be dropped or sold to an NPC.
Character renewal
Four melee classes — Dark Knight, Magic Gladiator, Rage Fighter and Slayer — gained a new stat, Combat Power (%), which raises attack power and skill attack power at a set ratio. It applies only to skills that use attack power, and it comes from two places: the class's own stat points, and weapon options.
| Class | Stats that give Combat Power | Weapon |
|---|---|---|
| Dark Knight | Strength | One-handed sword |
| Magic Gladiator | Strength, Agility | One-handed and two-handed sword |
| Rage Fighter | Agility, Vitality | Claw |
| Slayer | Agility | Short sword |
Socket, mastery, Archangel's Absolute and Blessed Archangel's Absolute weapons can all carry the Combat Power option. Alongside it came a handful of targeted buffs: Blow now costs 3 AG, Spiral Charge grants more attack power, the Rage Fighter's master tree gives more attack success rate and weapon enhancement, and Dark Side on the enhancement tree moved to 2 damage counts, 2 tiles of range and 2 targets. The damage formula for all four classes was corrected.
Levels and rewards
The cap moved twice: 1,450 → 1,500 in Part 1 and 1,500 → 1,550 in Part 2. Both reward boxes arrive through the Gremory Case with a 30-day claim window and 14 days of validity once claimed.

| Reach | Muun | Base ability |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1,450 | Illusion Knight Zakard | Skill attack power +15 |
| Level 1,500 | Rage Fighter | Elemental defence +10 |
Both multiply their base ability 20× for 30 days after you pick them up.
- New class: the Illusion Knight and his illusion sword
- Artifacts - a new equipment slot built from hexagon pieces
- Brilliant 8th weapons and Crimson Flame Apocalypse 9th armour
- Ignis Volcano and Bloody Tarkan, both with elite zones
- Boss Battle Together every night at 20:00, plus the Barka time attack
- Season Pass, Tempest Muun and a rebuilt wing-crafting window
